Constantly the fabulous Ray Gelato recently seen on ITV’s The Voice, brings his amazing swing band The Giants, blow the lid off Ronnie Scott’s Club in awesome fashion.  Ray, a wonderful sax player and superb front man, is a London boy heavily influenced by the likes of Louis Prima, Dean Martin, Sammy Davis, Louis Jordan and Coleman Hawkins. The Giants’ brilliant horn section is made up of Andy Rogers – trombone, Danny Marsden – trumpet and Olly Wilby – saxophone, who’s joint talent goes beyond the brass, supplying some playful call and response backing vocals. The double bass player Manuel Alvarez and entertaining drummer Simon Spies, are always on fire together creating smoking hot rhythms and are the driving energy of the band.  Completing the seven-piece line-up is the talented ever smiling jazz pianist Gunther Kurmayr tickling the ivories with great gusto.
