    The Spirit of Stephane Grappelli & Django Reinhardt

    Mike Piggott frequently guests  at  festivals  and jazz  clubs  in the  UK  and abroad,  including  an  appearance  as a member of Martin Taylor’s “Spirit  of Django”  at  the  Xabia  Jazz  Festival  in  Spain.  Two shows,   “Grappelli –   A Celebration” and  “Stringing  the  Blues”  have  received  enthusiastic  reviews.

    Mike’s first CD release “Blues for Stuff and Steph”, featuring his quartet, has received excellent reviews from music publications in the UK, the USA, Jazz FM and BBC radio’s “Jazz Notes”. “One of the best Swing Jazz fiddle players anywhere” ~ New York Jazz Times 

    Nils Solberg has been a professional guitarist since the 1970s when he started his career playing Dixieland Jazz in the hotels of the West End of London. He since played with many bands in that genre, notably Dick Charlesworth, Alan Elsdon and Terry Lightfoot, while also performing in the Gypsy Jazz style and was for some time accompanying Nigel Kennedy as well as Bryan Ferry. He is also a singer of great enthusiasm, and an ardent exponent of the “Great American Songbook”.

    Jeff Green over the years Jeff has toured with Nigel Kennedy’s ‘Wasp Factory’ and with Stephane Grappelli’s Quartet, with Martin Taylor. Jeff has recorded albums with diverse musicians such as Ronnie Scott, Mike Osborne and Jim Richardson and has recorded CDs with Brian Dee, Alan Barnes, Tommy Whittle.

    Alan Morgan originally a guitar player, changed to bass in 1960 and has worked with many musicians in all styles of music, Jazz, pop, klezmer  etc. Some of the musicians he has worked with are: Tubby Hayes, Humphrey Lyttelton, Don Rendell, Tommy Whittle, Art Themen and Brian Dee.  Alan also features in our Summer Pianorama every year.
