Jazz at the Movies – Part II
Chris Ingham – piano
Mark Crooks – saxes
Arnie Somogyi – double bass
George Double – drums
They’ve become a Christmas regular at Ronnie Scott’s in London and now they’re playing again at The Belvedere Jazz & Music Club.
Jazz At The Movies is a unique jazz group interpreting movie themes and soundtrack songs from classic films including The Pink Panther, Gilda, Kiss Me Deadly, From Russia With Love, The Servant, One Touch Of Venus, The Fabulous Baker Boys, and many more. Rich with anecdote, song and swing, JATM have become a regular sell-out at Ronnie Scott’s, St James Theatre, the Royal Albert Hall’s Elgar Room and many jazz clubs, theatres and Arts Centres throughout the UK. The swinging quintet will be presenting their own take on numerous recognisable movie themes. The group features the really beautiful vocals of Joanna Eden, described by Time Out as ‘the UK’s answer to Diana Krall’ and the Chris Ingham quartet. The quartet comprises drummer George Double, pianist and MC Chris Ingham, bass player Arnie Somogyi and saxophonist/clarinettist Mark Crooks (John Wilson Orchestra)
George Double said: “Jazz At The Movies will appeal to music fans and movie fans alike. With an emphasis on swing and accessibility, Jazz At The Movies was formed specifically to interpret movie themes. Along with the music, there’s some very entertaining dialogue from Chris. ”
