Enjoyable, unpretentious and unashamedly entertaining take on Stephane Grappelli & Django Reinhardt’s Hot Club of France!
Expect to hear tunes such as My Blue Heaven, China Boy, He Ain’t Got Rhythm, That’s A Plenty, Flamingo, Blues In The Night, Heavy Date, Krazy Kapers.
George Washingmachine is an entertainer who plays violin and sings and has appeared has played all of the major festivals around Australia as well as the world and will have your feet and fingers will be tapping all evening!
Nils Solberg has recorded and performed with such artists as Bryan Ferry, Nigel Kennedy, Clare Teal and Ralph McTell. His own style could best be described as a mixture of gipsy swing and the Great American Songbook, imagine Django Reinhardt meets Fats Waller and The Nat Cole Trio and you’re there. Appears with Mike Piggott at our Club.
Jez Cook is the guitarist’s guitarist and an exceptional player who works regularly with John Etheridge and Gary Potter, two of the most virtuosic players on the scene in styles as various as hot club, contemporary jazz and fusion, Jez has been employed by everyone from George Harrison, Jools Holland and more. Appears regularly with Ben Holder at our Club.
Alan Morgan on double bass has performed with String Fellows Quartet and also Mike Piggott as well as our Club’s yearly Pianorama
