Percussion maestro Steve Rushton along with jazz and big band vocalist Louise Cookman, present a new show celebrating the music of jazz legends Anita O’Day and drummer Gene Krupa. A five piece band features in this dynamic show to celebrate their latest album entitled “Cool Heat, Burnin’ Beat”.
Louise Cookman started her career as a dance band and big band vocalist and was the vocalist with the Pasadena Roof Orchestra plus a regular guest singer on Big Band Special on BBC Radio 2 and has of toured as guest vocalist for Ken Peplowski with the BBC Big Band, The Glenn Miller & Piccadilly Dance Orchestras and crooner Tony Jacobs. She has sung on Radio 2, 3 and 4, appeared in Period TV Drama, performed at Ronnie Scott’s, Cadogan Hall, the Queen Elizabeth and Royal Festival Halls and made countless concert and cabaret appearances throughout the UK and Europe. Louise also featured on “Len Goodman’s Dancing Feet & Dance Band Days”, both for BBC4 television .
Steve Rushton has become one of the UK’s busiest and most in-demand drummers, with an impressive list of credits to his name. A flamboyant and stylish performer, he is perhaps best known currently for his work with Imelda May, touring the world. Steve appears at our Club with Tony Jacobs & Stephen Triffitt. Alex Garnett compares and plays at Ronnie Scott’s Jazz Club every Monday and Tuesday.
Ross Stanley is one of the UK’s top jazz pianists – constantly in demand for his flowing creative and lyrical playing.
Paul Morgan has appeared at the Club with Tony Jacobs, Simon Bates & Marlene VerPlanck.
